Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Ethiopia IOM has been contributing to the efforts of the Government to effectively manage migration through a wide variety of projects and programmes.

Dr. Tedros bade farewell to the IOM’s Head of Mission, Josiah Ogina
Addis Ababa, 01 August 2015 (WIC) - The Foreign Minister, Dr Tedros Adhanom, send off Josiah Ogina, IOM head of Mission in Ethiopia, on the 30th of July 2015 in his office, MoFA reported.
Dr. Tedros thanked Mr Ogina for his outstanding service and reminded how he and his office stood alongside with Ethiopia in difficult times including facilitating the necessary conditions for Ethiopian returnees from Saudi Arabia.
Dr Tedros added that International Organization for Migration and Ethiopia were and are still working like one office and Mr Ogina’s openness put another weight to the already strong relationship.
Mr Ogina also offered a compliment to Ethiopia in her commitments on intensely cooperating with the IOM in migration and other related issues
